Cost of Tattoo Removal

Cost of Tattoo Removal

Tattoos don’t come cheap and it is a huge disappointment when you have spent hard earned cash on something that was supposed to be forever and is no longer wanted.  So of course when thinking of removing such a thing, consideration for the cost of tattoo removal is just as important as the method thereof.  And as there are many different methods, so are there many different cost involved.

As for the cheapest cost of tattoo removal, using one of the many removal creams available on the market ranks first on the list.  These also vary in price though, some come as cheap as $60 for a three month supply and others hover in the hundreds of dollars price range.  Some even come with a money back guarantee.  For laser removal the price increases drastically but it is considered to be the most effective method of removal.  It can take from 5 to 25 sessions, depending on size and quality of the tattoo and these sessions can cost up to $500 each, although some can be a reasonable $150 each – still a rather steep amount.  As for surgical excision of the tattoo, this is fairly cheaper as it is a once off surgery done under local anesthetic but to obtain a price you will have to consult the American Society for Dermatological Surgery.  The same goes for dermabrasion where the skin is surgically sanded also under a local anesthetic.

Clearly the cost of tattoo removal varies drastically and though there are other factors to take into account when deciding to remove your old ink, finding the right price seems to be at the top of most people’s priority list.

Cheap Tattoo Removal

So you’ve forked out all this money on getting your skin adorned with a saintly rendition of Charles Manson, who, after all, didn’t actually kill anybody.  You’re a little older and a little wiser and you admit now that maybe he is a madman and his portrait needs to be removed from your chest permanently.  But mostly you need it to be done in a way that takes kindly to your wallet.  Don’t panic – cheap tattoo removal options are available!

Although there are some extreme cases of really brave (stupid?) people who summoned the services of a good old Black and Decker (no jokes, Google it) to literally sand the unwanted tattoo off their skin, there certainly is a more humane way of doing it.  Unfortunately cheap tattoo removal doesn’t provide many different options.  In fact, short of covering it up with makeup there really is only one way to attempt ridding yourself of an old friend.  This would be the option of trying out the many different tattoo removal creams and balms out there.  They are meant to gradually break down the ink beneath the surface of the skin and wait for new skin cells to regenerate that then in turn push out the old pigmented skin cells.  This method, depending on the size and quality of your tattoo, can take as little as 8 weeks to work, if applied according to instructions.

Unfortunately cheap tattoo removal does come with the risk that it might not work as effectively as you might hope. There are many people that do insist that it does work and modern technology has improved greatly, but trust your gut on this one and do a little research before purchasing any product.
